Spring Break is a time of fun filled adventures, play dates with besties, snow cones and sleeping in. This March was no exception. The girls and I woke to a much anticipated play date with a dear friend and her littles. As we watch our spirited children run wild around her backyard we dreamt up ways to incorporate my love for design and junkin’ into a career that would allow me to stay home with my children. It was as if a bolt of lightning struck, the idea popped into her genius head…”you could buy an old camper and turn it into a photo booth.” I immediately said, “of course I can!” And so the adventure began. Together we Googled, we searched, we brainstormed…this play date was one for the books indeed. As we were saying our goodbyes to our friends, I looked back and said, “I’m seriously doing this!”
The search was on. I was bound and determined to locate the most amazing vintage camper. With the help of the Internet I was able to find several vintage style campers. Then all of a sudden, there she was, a 1967 Scotty Serro Highlander. This beauty, this gem was purchased with hail damage, leaking walls, wood rot and just begging for a renovation.
