The Grand Texana – Best of Houston’s Barn Wedding Venues

A cool breeze brushed over the farm lands of the stunning Grand Texana providing Samantha and Jason with an incredible evening to begin their lives together as Mr. and Mrs.

Venue in Hempsted, Texas!

The Grand Texana is located in Hempstead, TX just off HWY 290.  With gorgeous farm land, lush greenery and the kind of sunset’s photographers dream of this charming venue offers a romantic setting for a rustic barn wedding.  The owners and staff make you feel like one of the family and Ann has such a keen eye for detail, one look at the chapel and the gorgeous brick inlayed floors of the reception hall you will agree.  Did you know that The Grand Texana was once a fully operational dairy farm?  So much history in the gem.

Photo Camper

GingerSnap Photo Camper fits right in with the feel and vibe of The Grand Texana and we may do a bit of a happy dance each time we are booked at the venue.  We set-up the photo camper in the corner of the reception green space, just steps away from the reception hall, dance floor, bar and backyard games such as Corn Hole, and Four in a Row.

Brandy was onsite to entertain guests during the crisp evening hours.  Brandy is our newest photo camper, the third photo camper for GingerSnap Photo Camper.  She is designed and styled just like her sisters, Ginger and Sugar and is always ready to party…and that she did, and that she did!  Guests of all ages came and went giggling and laughing.  Brandy was a must-have for Coni, Samantha’s mother, so much so that she just reserved it herself!  The guests, mother of the bride, Coni, as well as the bride and groom were smitten with Brandy and were able to create memories to last a lifetime.

Fall Weddings & Photo Campers

We always have a blast working events, people are so friendly and full of life coming in and out of the photo camper. One of my favorite things to do is to walk around the venue and see all the details fall into place and the personal touches of each and every couple. Samantha and Jason styled their event with beautiful, simplistic fall elements.

The fall elements, the crisp chill in the air, the stunning bride and lovable groom along with the backdrop of The Grand Texana make this wedding one for the books.  Friends, if you are ever in the area, please check out The Grand Texana and give Ann a huge hug for us, she is seriously the sweetest.

Schneider Hall Wedding for Tyler and Kristofer

Schneider Hall

Rustic chic would be a term to describe Schneider Hall in Columbus, TX. Tucked off the highway, down a long dirt road and under hundred(s) of year old oak trees you will find a weathered barn with so much charm. Just a little fun fact about Schneider Hall… Did you know the venue was once a full service dance hall from 1930’s to 1950’s. It was a very popular hangout for the locals and a gathering place for out-of-towners as well. It was then transformed into hay barn until 2009 when the owners decided to renovate the space to host their daughter’s wedding reception.

Vintage Photo Camper

Nestled under a large oak tree, the venue’s ceremony site gathers friends and family to bear witness to new beginnings. The barn is trimmed with beautiful windows to let the breeze in and flow throughout. Hard wood floors provide the perfect stomping ground for dancing while the DJ pumps tunes from current country and hip hop to the classics, along with some line dancing beats, of course. Beautifully decorated tables adorn the barn to create a comfortable gathering place where well wishes, fond memories and stories of the yester-years are shared among loved ones.

Just outside the barn is a bar, a patio for food service, ample room for unique vendors such as photo campers, and a lovely seating complete with a backyard gaming area for guests to relax and enjoy.

We were lucky enough to celebrate an amazing couple, Tyler and Kristofer, at Schneider Hall in August. Sugar, our photo camper, was onsite to capture smiles and laughter as guests gathered around. Friends and family had a blast sharing photos with one another, creating memories to last a lifetime.

The Pattison House Wedding in Pattison Texas for Diana and Gary

The Pattison House Wedding in Pattison Texas for Diana and Gary

Bridal Extravaganza

Celebrating Diana and Gary was an absolute joy. We met Diana and her girls at the Bridal Extravaganza in January of 2019 when she fell in love with Sugar, our second photo camper. The Bridal Extravaganza is a huge event that takes place at George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston twice a year, in January and then again in July. Hundreds of bridal vendors gather to showcase their products and brides are able to experience firsthand all the “wedding feels.”

The Pattison House Wedding

Diana and Gary set their date for July 20, 2019 and chose the lovely The Pattison House in Pattison, TX to begin their forever. When we arrived at The Pattison house we knew it was special. The original house is over 100 years old and you can immediately feel the heart and soul of the property. The venue owner’s poured love and sweat into creating such a special place. The Pattison House boasts a bridal suite within the original home, water tower, ceremony barn, reception hall, grooms quarters, a modern “outhouse”, and several gathering areas including one with a massive fire pit and hearth. They have a private lake and a smaller venue onsite as well. Let’s not forget the iconic yellow vintage Chevrolet pick-up truck. I have been told that when a chill is in the air the owners pull out the blankets and fill them in the bed of the truck for guests to get cozy. The personal touches are endless. You really need to head over to The Pattison House and check out this diamond.

Sugar Photo Camper

Our photo camper fit in perfect to the vibe and feel of The Pattison House. Their wine barrels framed the photo camper wonderfully. We set up in one of the many gathering spaces under several 100 year old + oak trees and guests truly enjoyed laughs and giggles under the huge oak trees. Our photo camper supplied fun props and our signature Corinthians backdrop for the special event. The guest book was full of photo strips and sweet well wishes for the couple. And since we have AC in our photo campers, it was a favorite spot with Diana, the bride. Her and her family/friends cooled off inside and enjoyed session after session!

As the time passed and the day turned to night, the sky transformed into a beautiful water color sunset with gorgeous pink, blue and purple tones. The kind of sky that stops you in your tracks and reminds you to thank the Lord for your blessings. The shade and the breeze along with the beautiful cotton candy skies was one for the books, you just cannot get that everywhere!

The event wrapped up with a sparkler exit under the stars and a stunning get-a-way in an incredibly refurbished white vintage limo. Diana and Gary are officially married and beyond happy to begin their forever and we truly appreciate begin a part of their forever!
